Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels
The chemical peels we offer for our Cleveland area patients are designed to stimulate the skin’s natural healing processes to produce a new layer of fresher, smoother skin. Applied topically, the chemical penetrates down to the desired skin layer, allowing the layers above to be exfoliated or sloughed off. Different chemicals are used to create light, medium and deep peels. After the procedure is complete, your body will respond by increasing collagen production, and stem cells in the dermal layers begin regenerating skin for a rejuvenated appearance. Because of the lack of dose control, many deeper peels have been abandoned by me and substituted with laser treatment.

What are the Most Effective Chemical Peels?

Light peels are effective for the treatment of fine wrinkles, acne and uneven skin pigment. Medium and deep peels are effective for deep wrinkles, scars, pre-cancerous growths, and blotchy, uneven skin. Your individual anatomy and the condition of your skin will help Dr. Vanek determine the right treatment for you. As an experienced board-certified general and plastic surgeon, Dr. Vanek may suggest alternate treatments, like cosmeceuticals or a laser-based rejuvenation procedure. During your consult, Dr. Vanek will educate you on the risks and benefits of any procedure and empower you to make an informed, medically sound decision.

“Lighter acid penetrates between 20-70% like buffered glycolic peels and a great way to jump start your skin brightener with minimal or now recovery.” Dr. Vanek says. “Give us a call. I’d love to talk with you and help you celebrate your beauty.”
