About Sofwave

Sofwave is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive treatment that can tighten the skin and stimulate the production of new collagen in targeted areas. This treatment uses Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam (SUPERB) technology to heat the underlying layers of your skin and stimulate collagen production. This treatment specifically targets the mid-dermis layer of the skin to induce protein coagulation and regeneration, (2) which is where your connective tissues and collagen bundles lie. (3) As the device emits the ultrasound energy, it will pulse and emit seven parallel beams. Preparation

Before you undergo your Sofwave treatment, Dr. Vanek will provide you with a set of preparation instructions. They are fairly simple, but following them closely helps to elicit the best possible results from your treatment.

You will need to refrain from using any harsh or irritating products on your skin, including those that may affect its outermost layers. These may include alcohol-based products, as well as retinols or exfoliants. You will also need to ensure the treatment area is moisturized and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. We also ask that on the day of your treatment, you eat a nutritious meal and arrive with clean skin that is free from skin care products or fragrances.

Procedure

When you arrive for your treatment, Dr. Vanek will begin by cleansing your skin. Sofwave does not require any anesthetics, but you can apply a topical numbing cream if you have more sensitive skin. Dr. Vanek will then apply an ultrasound gel to protect your skin before using the Sofwave applicator on the skin.

Dr. Vanek will pass the Sofwave device over the skin to administer the energy to stimulate the production of new collagen. He will continue to repeat this motion until he has targeted each area of concern, and he may make more than one pass over areas that require more attention. As he treats the skin, the Sofwave device will cool the surface to protect it and ensure your comfort. Once he has adequately addressed each area, you will be free to leave.
